Human Factors faculty member, Dr. Eva Wiese, was recently awarded a $200,255 Air Force Office of Scientific Research grant. The grant will support her research on the neuroscience of human-robot interactions with equipment including a full-body humanoid robot, several smaller social robots, and an EEG system that allows to record brain signals from two participants while working on a task together. Dr. Wiese and her students will use this equipment to investigate how attitudes and performance in human-robot interaction change over time and how robots need to be designed in order to be perceived as social companions.
